Mozilla is taking up most of the space in my home directory! How can I fix this?

I am unable to login to linux computers in the lab. When I try to login graphically, I get the following error message (or something like it):

"Your session only lasted less then 10 seconds. If you have not
logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation
problem or that you may be out of diskspace. Try logging in with one of
failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem."

ANSWER:

1. Firefox v3 uses over 50MB for its anti-malware support. See the page [https://wiki.classe.cornell.edu/Computing/FirefoxProfiles][FirefoxProfiles]] for suggestions to cope with this.

2. By default, Mozilla (and Firefox) can use a large amount of disk space for their cache.

If you cannot login graphically, this may be because your account is overquota. When you login graphically, several files are created in your home directory. If you are already overquota, this will fail and you will not be able to login.
