NoMachine Update: Tuesday, 28-Feb-2023
If you are a
NoMachine user, at the end of TODAY, Monday, 27-Feb-2023, please save your work and log out of any
NoMachine Virtual Desktops. On Tuesday, 28-Feb-2023, starting at 4:00 AM, all NoMachine servers will be updated to the latest release. When this update occurs, remote connections will be interrupted and all NoMachine Virtual Desktops will be deleted. This release includes one bug fix and one feature request submitted by CLASSE, but otherwise should be transparent. Please submit a
ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.
Newman Lab Power Outage: Wednesday, 01-Mar-2023 @ 6:00 AM
On Wednesday, 01-Mar-2023, there will be a scheduled power outage in Newman Lab starting at 6:00 AM, possibly extending into Thursday, 02-Mar-2023. Please shut down any sensitive computer systems gracefully before Wednesday 6:00 AM.
Autodesk 2023 Product Rollout: Starting Friday, 03-Mar-2023
This March, CLASSE-IT will upgrade its Autodesk products to the new 2023 version. As part of this Autodesk Vault will be unavailable from Friday, 03-Mar-2023 at 3:00 PM until Tuesday, 07-Mar-2023 at 10:00 AM. Please check-in all of your files to Vault before before 3:00 PM on 03-Mar-2023 so that they can be updated to the new format. More details about the Autodesk 2023 upgrade will be communicated via CLASSE-INVENTOR-ANNOUNCE-L, the CLASSE Inventor mailing list.
Windows ESET Update
ESET endpoint security has been updated on CLASSE-managed Windows computers. If you are prompted to reboot your computer, please do so at your convenience in order to complete the update
CLASSE Duo with ScreenConnect: Tuesday, 04-Apr-2023
Since March 2022,
CLASSE Duo has been available for ScreenConnect on an opt-in basis. As part of our ongoing effort to improve cybersecurity, beginning on Tuesday, 04-Apr-2023,
CLASSE Duo will be required for all ScreenConnect logins. Please note that ScreenConnect does not support phone calls, only Duo Push via the mobile app. If you do not have access to a phone or tablet to run the Duo app, or if you have any questions or concerns about this change, please submit a
ServiceRequest.
CLASSE Duo Passcodes to be Disabled: Tuesday, 04-Apr-2023
Beginning on Tuesday, 04-Apr-2023, the passcode authentication method will no longer be available for
CLASSE Duo. CIT made a
similar change to Cornell Duo last December. If you are a regular user of Duo Mobile App passcodes, please plan to switch to one of the available alternatives (such as Duo push, Duo phone callback) before Tuesday, 04-Apr-2023. If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please submit a
ServiceRequest.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
