GitLab Update: Tuesday, 18-Feb-2025 @ 10:00 AM

On Tuesday, 18-Feb-2025, at 10:00 AM, the CLASSE GitLab will be unavailable for approximately one hour for a series of updates. Please submit a ServiceRequest if you have any questions or concerns.

NoMachine Update: Tuesday, 18-Feb-2025

If you are a NoMachine user, at the end of Monday, 17-Feb-2025, please save your work and log out of any NoMachine Virtual Desktops. On Tuesday, 18-Feb-2025, starting at 4:00 AM, all NoMachine servers will be updated to the latest release. When this update occurs, remote connections will be interrupted and all NoMachine Virtual Desktops will be deleted. Please submit a ServiceRequest with any questions or concerns.

Autodesk 2025 Update

Last weekend, we updated the Vault and all Autodesk applications to the 2025 version. Vault has been available for users since 1PM today, Monday, 17-Feb-2025. More details will be communicated on the CLASSE Autodesk mailing list. If you would like to be added to that mailing list, please contact Tim O'Connell.

[PSA] Cornell AI Resources

If you are interested in experimenting with AI for research or business purposes, IT@Cornell has provided a compilation of tools and resources supported by Cornell, including Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and Cornell AI Initiative. Other AI resources at Cornell include:

• Scientific Computing Training Series
• AI Tools for User Interface
• Sandbox AI: chatbot tool for protected data (limited availability).

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
