Compute Farm Outage - Wednesday 14-Aug-2019 @ 1PM

At 1PM Wednesday 14-Aug-2019, electrical work will be conducted on the East Module. To prepare for this outage and ensure no jobs are interrupted, the CLASSE queueing system has been suspended. Currently running jobs will complete and you can submit new jobs, but no new jobs will start executing until after the power outage. We expect to have the queueing system back up on Thursday 15-Aug-2019. For more information on the CLASSE Compute Farm, please see GridEngine.

Wilson 320 Printer (w320_br_5470)

The Wilson Lab printer - w320_br_5470 is broken. We will not be replacing this printer. Instead, please use the color hp printer in Wilson room #320 - chessw313color_hp_500

Matlab upgrade to 2018a

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday 13-Aug-2019, the default version of matlab for all CLASSE Linux boxes will be changed to 2018a. The current default version will still be available using "matlab -r 2016a".

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
