Do not forward CU mail
To avoid blocks on your Cornell email, it is important that you do not forward your CU Mail to any external mail providers (cmail, gmail, etc.). This is especially important after the recent upgrade to Office 365 Direct, at which point Cornell stopped filtering email for spam before any forwarding takes place. Cornell is working on the high number of blocks its seeing from staff forwarding their CU mail, but to avoid any complications please remove any forwarding in both WhoIAm and in Outlook Web.
Globus Downtime
The Globus remote file access service will be unavailable on Saturday, December 9, 2017, between 10:00am and 2:00pm CST while Globus conducts scheduled upgrades. Active file transfers will be suspended during this time and they will resume when the Globus service is restored. Users trying to access the service at globus.org will see a maintenance page until the service is restored.
For information on using Globus to access files at CLASSE, please see
GlobusDataTransfer .
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
