Vidyo on PSB in-room Linux Computers
Vidyo has stopped releasing new Vidyo Desktop clients for Linux, so as of February 14, 2018, CERN no longer supports Linux client apps. For more details, see
http://information-technology.web.cern.ch/services/fe/howto/users-use-vidyo-linux. The Computer Group is exploring alternatives, but in the meantime, Vidyo users will have to bring a Macintosh or Windows laptop to PSB meeting rooms if they want to use Vidyo there.
Wilson Commons Projector
The projector in the Wilson Commons has been upgraded to an Optoma EH500, so we have the same model projector in the Commons as we have in rooms Wilson 301 and Wilson 374. The Optoma EH500's native resolution is 1080p; connecting to the projector through the VGA cable still works, but for best results, connect through the HDMI cable, if possible.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
