Can I use Exceed from my home Windows computer to run X-sessions on LEPP machines?

Answer

Because the license for Exceed is very expensive, we encourage the use of other X software instead.

Although in the distant past we recommended Cygwin/X, LEPP currently recommends Xming, which is significantly easier to install. A free version can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/ A commercial version is available from http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/

Be sure to download and install the font files, too.
