Central Filesystem Maintenance: Tuesday, 14-Jun-2022 @ 10:30 AM
On Tuesday, 14-Jun-2022, from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM, there will be periodic brief pauses in access to central file systems accessed via samba and NFS as they are migrated to new storage devices. This will include various project and group filesystems, including the main
UserDisk,
TemDisk, and central accelerator (not CESR), chess (not DAQ), BBL, CBETA, and G_2 filesystems. Please submit a
ServiceRequest if you have any questions or concerns.
Possible Brief Network Interruption: Tuesday, 14-Jun-2022 @ 12:00 Noon
On Tuesday, 14-Jun-2022, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, there is a slight chance of a 5-minute interruption on CLASSE networks as we reconfigure the main CLASSE router for improved redundancy. Status updates on this work will be posted to the
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L mailing list. Cornell wireless networks (RedRover, eduroam) will not be affected. Please submit a
ServiceRequest if you have any questions or concerns.
ScreenConnect Update: Tuesday, 21-Jun-2022 @ 10:30 AM
On Tuesday, 21-Jun-2022, starting at 10:30 AM, the
ScreenConnect service will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes for an update. During this time, you will be disconnected from existing remote sessions, and you will not be able to start new remote sessions.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
